Precious frescos, scattered domes
dark enclaves of years untold
Perhaps there’s ten maybe fifteen
that do persist and still exist
And if they do the stars will guide,
let not your land be stripped of sky
Erase the marks, employ your arms,
dig deep at sea but save the scars

This work, through the poem composed, depicts the current situation on the Akamas Peninsula national park and is another voice in preserving its historic and natural beauty. Scattered Domes – 100 Churches of Akamas reflects on the myth of the area nesting over 100 churches or enclaves during various periods of historic Cyprus. Preserving the natural and cultural aspects of this region by shedding a small ray of light on what lies below the scenic landscape and wild raw beauty of the Peninsula.
